Welcome to my Web site. My name is Rob Jenkins--in case you hadn't guessed from the name of the site--and I'm a freelance writer, humor columnist, and college professor in Gwinnett County, Georgia, a large suburban county in the metropolitan Atlanta area.

I'm also a husband and father of four, including a recent bride and college graduate, a college student, a middle-schooler, and a pre-teen. That's mostly what my columns are about: family, kids, marriage, life in the burbs. Occasionally I like to delve into politics or sports--two of my favorite pastimes--but my editors prefer that I keep it light. I'm supposed to be a humor columnist, after all. (Then again, what's funnier than politics?)

That's the main reason I created this site--so I can write about whatever I want to write about, editors be darned. These days they call it "blogging," and I intend to give it a try. So check out my blogs and then e-mail me to let me know what you think. Dissenting opinions are specifically encouraged. Death threats not so much.
